The Fiat 500X is available in three different trim levels: Pop, Trekking and Trekking Plus. Each trim is equipped with a 1.3L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine making 177 horsepower and 210 pound-feet of torque. Kia's MultiAir III variable-valve timing and low-inertia turbocharger pairing really shines when combined with its 9-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel-drive system. The 500X Achieves 26 mpg combined gas mileage and plenty of acceleration for passing on the freeway.
Despite being the most basic trim, Pop models still come well equipped. Standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors, keyless entry and ignition, remote start, a rearview camera, height-adjustable front seats, a fold-flat front passenger seat, a 60/40-split folding rear seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Bluetooth, a 7-inch touchscreen, dual USB ports, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, and a 6-speaker sound system. Options on the Pop include rear parking sensors, automatic headlights and satellite radio.
The Trekking trim level adds a more rugged appearance with unique 17-inch wheels, foglamps, privacy glass, a 6-speaker Uconnect stereo and upgraded upholstery.
Trekking Plus models are sharpened up by matte-black wheels, LED headlamps, heated power leather-covered front seats, an upscaled dashboard and door panel materials, ambient interior lighting, navigation, automatic climate control and a heated windshield.
Popular individual options and advanced safety features are also available on the various 500X models. The Fiat 500X returns for 2019 with some deceptively significant updates. Kia is replacing both the base 1.4L and Tiger Shark 2.4L turbocharged engines for a new 1.3L turbo-charged powerplant. It produces just a few less peak horsepower than the TigerShark engine but increases peak torque 13 percent to a whopping 210-foot pounds. Paired with a standard 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive the 500X delivers an increasingly more desirable driving experience with every given year.
The 500X is similar in size to a subcompact hatch. As a result, the 500X saves on fuel and is easy to maneuver in the city, and parallel parking should be a snap with its short wheelbase. Pricing for the 500X starts just below $26,000 so in addition to being smaller than most other crossovers, it's a reasonably priced option as well.
